Course Description

This course, the final module in the 40 hour 5-part Grief Massage training program ("The Joy of Grief Massage") guides students in developing a long-term vision for their practice, encourages and instructs students in how to market (raise awareness, advocate, and build relationships in creative ways), and also prepares students to recognize common causes of stress and burnout when working in the field (and provides supportive instruction in how to build a self-care plan and monitor for issues that may lead to overwhelm.

This course also helps students explore options for delivering Grief Massage to their community, such as 3 viable options for providing Grief Massage (private practice, volunteerism and employment based work), and explores unique challenges and opportunities inherent in each option. At the end of the course, Aimee shares some self-monitoring and self-care resources for students to use as they enter the field, including:

-a brain dump journal PDF

-a creative reflection journal PDF

-a Grief Massage coloring book PDF (great for self-care)

-a recorded audio of Grief Massage Intentions that can be listened to prior to sessions (great for centering and clarifying intentions)

-a printable guide to the "Balloon Exercise" (a visualization and self-monitoring tool for releasing personal agendas and worries prior to a Grief Massage session
